We are seeking to recruit a personable, confident and experienced Finance Analyst that will fit in with our dynamic company culture and be a valued member of the team. We are looking for someone who has a proven background of delivering commercial efficiencies within a growing business and knows how to confidently communicate and influence across all levels.

Majestic Wines are the largest wine specialist in the UK with over 200 stores, megastores in France & a significant online presence.

Following the merger between Naked Wines and Majestic, Rowan Gormley (Founder of Naked Wines and Chief Executive of the enlarged group), has set the wheels in motion of transforming the business into a new kind of retailer – a retailer that is loved by customers, loved by suppliers and loved by shareholders.

This transformation is brought to life by our talented team at the Support Centre, Watford, which houses all departments working behind the scenes such as Customer, IT, Transformation, Finance, Supply Chain & People.

The Role

Candidates wishing to apply for this role will be an established analyst with a proven background of delivering commercial efficiencies within a growing business. The successful candidate will be comfortable in providing key stakeholders with value added insight. A profit-making and continuous improvement mind-set, commercial approach and an investigative nature are all required in this role also. Ideally you will be working towards, or at the latter stages of your professional accounting qualifications (ACCA or CIMA).

It is essential that the role holder is confident in influencing across all levels, strong stakeholder management skills are crucial to this role as the candidate will be liaising with the executive level. Ideally you will come from a FMCG, Retail or Manufacturing (or similar sector) background, familiar with working in an environment where high volumes of information is the norm. Effective in planning and organising, while having the ability to spot anomalies within data sets and close attention to detail is a key requirement for this role. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of the weekly reporting, analysis and commenting on data from multiple sources
  • Development and production of the management information pack including Profit Margin Analysis
  • Investigation of value drivers to provide a thorough understanding of the business performance and KPIs 
  • Identifying areas of improvements and opportunities for growth, working in conjunction with other business areas including developing reports to support with marketing analysis
  • Analysing margin discrepancies
  • Analysing product performance, stock movement and trends including ageing, clearance, Stock Turn, ROI etc
  • Other ad hoc projects and modelling
