The Role

As Majestic Wine goes through an exciting rate of change, the Logistics department is fundamental to the success of Majestic's growth plans. We are therefore looking for someone with the ability to lead and motivate the logistics team to success by managing the Supply Chain distribution operations and costs for Majestic Retail.

Here in lies the opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset to have a significant impact in delivering Majestic growth plans by providing the distribution input to execute supply chain plans within an action-orientated approach.

You will be responsible for the day to day leadership and management of the distribution teams and work constructively and effectively within the wider Supply Chain team. Whilst always maintaining our customer focus. 

Role Responsibilities:

Distribution

  • Manage the Distribution budget in terms of operating costs with the objective to deliver future improved efficiencies.
  • Manage the day to day Distribution Centre(s) operations including resourcing, performance, productivity and inventory integrity.
  • Ensure suitable distribution capacity is implemented for key seasonal periods.
  • Define and implement future distribution requirements in conjunction with the overall Supply Chain strategy.
  • Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for Supply Chain overall performance summaries.
  • Responsible for Workplace Health & Safety standards.

Transport

  • Manage the transport budget costs, ensuring capacity is available for seasonal peaks and future requirements are planned for.
  • Introduce and manage service improvement metrics with a focus on end customer experience.
  • Develop a transport strategy for the future with ongoing revisions based on business channel requirements and volume growth.

Supply Chain Leadership

  • Liaise with Business Transformation as a Supply Chain representative for future Network requirements and modelling.
  • Be aware of general marketing calendars and ad-hoc promotional activity that could impact resource and operating plans.
  • Act as a Supply Chain representative within some cross-functional discussions, providing initial solution design options and recommendations.
  • Deputise for Supply Chain Director when required.

Business Skills required:

  • Excellent stakeholder management by communicating effectively and persuasively, ensuring key messages are presented with impact.
  • Knowledge of logistics operations, supply chain management techniques, data analysis and project management are distinct advantages
  • Adapts influencing style to achieve positive outcomes with both Distribution team other groups outside Supply Chain.
  • Encourages a flexible approach to distribution and change, whilst developing solutions to support business requirements.
  • Seeks to understand business objectives, taking ownership of issues impacting distribution and actively driving solutions.
  • Be able to understand complex issues, either operational or technical, and determine actions to resolve in a timely manner.
